"Having had first hand experience with the healing benefits bestowed upon me by Katina O'Neil, I can unconditionally vouch for her very special and extraordinary skills and talents as a gifted healer and spiritual teacher.
In the summer of 1996 while on a weekend camping vacation trip with my family, I had the most unfortunate experience of contracting viral meningitis. Viral meningitis is a swelling of the blood/brain/spinal column barrier brought on by an opportunistic viral infection. Normally this area of the body is protected from infections unless it is weakened in some way, as was mine. I remember developing the symptoms over the course of a couple of days and the pain of this disease is unlike any other that I can imagine. I can only describe it like the feeling one might have a having a knife repeated jabbed into one's skull over intervals ranging a couple of minutes in duration. In addition, my sensitivity to light was so extreme that exposure to any light whatsoever would immediately drive me to the brink of insanity.
I rushed to hospital on the Sunday night of that weekend where two separate spinal taps confirmed my affliction and the extreme degree of my disease. I was sent to a hospital bed in a completely blacked out room of an ICU ward to help alleviate my sensitivity to light. The summary of my diagnosis was that there was no "cure" per say as viral infections can only be left to run their course. The medical staff were able only to prescribe narcotics as pain killers, which ultimately ended in my having complete numbness from my eyebrows down coupled with the same excruciatingly painful splitting headache as before. I was told to expect the symptoms to last about a month and then I would need another month to recover from the ordeal. What joy! Again, this was Sunday night of the first week. I had no idea how I was going to be able to endure a whole month of this.
On Tuesday afternoon of the same week at roughly 1:15 pm, Katina entered my ICU ward and immediately began a healing process with me. Having had many prior Reiki treatments from her, this healing process was unlike any she had given performed on me before. I can only describe this particular healing process as the feeling one might have of a ball of warm localized energy traveling through my blood vessels up and down my arms, legs and torso and then through my head and back down into my body. This healing feeling and process continued on for a few hours and by about 3:30 pm, I was able to arise from my bed, walk down the hall and enjoy the sunshine on that day. I still felt some of the pain but my sensitivity to light was gone. Katina continued to give me regular treatments throughout the day and night and by 7:00 pm on the following day, I felt ready to check myself out of the hospital, much to the concern of the medical staff. After signing multiple waivers of liability, they finally let me go. To this day, I doubt the medical staff at the hospital really knew what happened to me during my brief visit there.
I was back to work on the following Monday with little after effects from my very short lived disease, all thanks to Katina. Having had this to endure this ordeal in my life, I can honestly say that it was a life changing event that altered my whole perspective on the reality of life and the healing powers of nature, and of those like Katina that are truly gifted and skilled in channeling this wonderous spiritual energy to the greater good of mankind."
